About the Acupuncturist

Cathy Liu (OMD, Dipl. Ac, Lic. Ac.), the founder and president of AAA Acupuncture Center, has been practicing acupuncture and herbal medicine for over 36 years both in Texas and China. She is licensed by both Texas Board of Medical Examiner and Texas Board of Acupuncture to practice acupuncture and herb medicine. She is also a member of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine as well as the Texas Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Association.

Coming from China, Dr. Cathy Liu studied Chinese medicine (Which includes acupuncture, herb medicine, therapeutic massage, and etc.) and Western medicine for over five years in a top Chinese medicine university and graduated with a honor award. Subsequently, she had intern and residency training in both Western medicine and Chinese medicine in a top hospital in China. She conducted extensive research with a group of Chinese and Western medicine doctors on treating cancers and arthritis by combining acupuncture, herb medicine, western medicine, therapeutic massage and physical therapy.

She was also a associate professor in the Sichuan Correspondence University for Chinese Medicine. There, she taught groups of doctors, who already had practiced for many years Chinese medicine, acupuncture, herb medicine, and other techniques and how to combine these to treat various diseases.

Over time, she has helped thousands of patients and accumulated extensive clinical experience in treating various chronic and acute health problems. She has a strong desire to help others. She wants to share her experience and use her knowledge to improve the life of people.
